# Adding Merge Fields

You can add dynamic fields to any document template. Dynamic fields, also called merge fields, let you include customer-specific information in your document templates by leveraging data in your Nexudus account.

*For example, including the **salutation** dynamic field will automatically pull the name in the **Salutation** field of the customer receiving the document.*

1. Log in to [dashboard.nexudus.com](https://dashboard.nexudus.com/) if you aren't already.
2. Click [**CRM > Document templates**](https://dashboard.nexudus.com/crm/documentTemplates).
3. Click the document template you want to edit.
4. Click **Launch editor**.

*The template editor opens another browser tab. Your document can take a few seconds to load.*

1. Click where you want to add the dynamic field in your document template.
2. Click the **Data** tab.
3. Click **Insert Merge Field**.
4. Select the relevant merge field from the list.

*Repeat the process of clicking where you want to add a merge field and then selecting the relevant merge field from the list.*

1. Once you've added all your merge fields, click on the **File** tab.
2. Click the **Save** button.

You can close the editor tab and start using your document template on the Admin Panel.

          Make sure you test the template with a mock proposal to see if all the dynamic fields display the right information.
