# Adding Message Macros

{{variable.Messagemacros_CAP}} are message templates that you can use to automate some of your communication with {{variable.customers}}. Your message can include dynamic tokens that let you pull data from your Nexudus account. Tokens match fields in Nexudus that are automatically populated based on who receives your message. 

*For example, if you add the {salutations} token to a {{variable.messagemacro}}, Nexudus automatically replaces the token with the name of the customer receiving the message.*

1. {{snippet.FirstStepProcedure}}

2. {{snippet.CRMMessageMacros_Path}}
3. Click **Add message macro**.
4. Add a **Subject** for your {{variable.messagemacro}}.
:::(info) (**Subject** shows in customer inboxes.)
You can edit it before sending your macros via [messages](/v3/docs/sending-messages-to-customers){target="_blank"} or [reminders](/v3/docs/reminders){target="_blank"}.

5. Select the  {{variable.Location_Field}} where your {{variable.messagemacro}} is available.

6. Add your message in the **Contents** {{variable.field}}, leaving blanks where you want to add **Dynamic tokens**.
:::(warning) (All files you add to your {{variable.messagemacro}} must be  under {{variable.FileSize_Maximum}}.)
This includes any file, such as images, PDFs, documents, or even gifs.

7. Click where you want to add your first **Dynamic tokens** and then click on the token you want to include in the message. 
9. Repeat step 7 until you've added all the relevant **Dynamic tokens**.
