You can add multiple late cancellation fees to resources using resource rules. Multiple late cancellation fees let you charge different cancellation fees for bookings based on customer group, when the cancellation is made, or the price of the booking.
For example, you can charge customers a 25% cancellation fee if they cancel within 48 - 24 hours of their booking and a 50% fee if they cancel within 24 hours.

Log in to dashboard.nexudus.com if you aren't already.
- Go to Inventory > Resources.
- Click on a resource that needs a late cancellation fee.
- Click on the Rules tab.
- Click on Add rule.
- Click on Manual entry.
- Name your rule.
- Toggle on This rule is active.
Make sure you don't have any higher-ranked resource rules with Stop the evaluation of other rules if this one is met toggled on.

These will block your late cancellation fees.
For more information, check out resource rule evaluation order.
- Click on the Conditions tab.
- Define the rule's Conditions.
- Customer Group
- Booking Value
- Cancellation Window
Make sure you define the correct range to make sure customers aren't double-charged.
For example, let's say your space charges a 25% fee for cancellations within 48 hours and a 50% fee for cancellations within 24 hours.
Correct Rule Implementation ✅
Rule 1 Condition: Applies between 48 hours and 24 hours

Rule 2 Condition: Applies within 24 hours

This ensures customers aren't incorrectly charged both the 48-hour and the 24-hour cancellation fees.
- Click on the Limits tab.
- Click on Requests and cancellations.
- Under Late cancellations, select Charge a cancellation fee if bookings are cancelled x minutes or less before the booking starts.
- Define how far in advance the cancellation fee should apply.
If your fee condition is customer group or booking value, you can set this to any time.
If your fee condition is cancellation window, set this to the earlier time in your cancellation window's range.
For example, if you're setting a fee that applies between 48 and 24 hours before the booking, you should set this to 48 hours.
- Select your late cancellation fee Product.
- Select the Type of fee you want to apply.
Absolute fees charge a flat rate for cancelled bookings.
Percentage fees charge a percentage of the cancelled booking's price, excluding any product or extra service.
- Define the cancellation percentage or amount based on the option selected in the previous step.
Click the Save Changes button.
Repeat the process for every late cancellation fee you'd like to apply to this resource.
All set! Customers cancelling their bookings at the last minute will now see a pop-up that lets them know the amount of the late cancellation fee. They can agree to it or keep their booking.

We automatically add the late cancellation fee to the customer's next invoice using the late cancellation fee product you've created and selected.
