# Assigning Equipment to Customers

You can easily keep track of who has your {{variable.assets}} at all times by assigning items to {{variable.customers}} via {{variable.Assets_Link}} {{variable.OnTheAdminPanel}}.

Assign {{variable.assets}} to [{{variable.resources}}](/docs/assigning-assets-to-resources){target=`_blank`} or [{{variable.floorplanitems}}](/docs/assigning-assets-to-floor-plan-units){target=`_blank`} instead.

Just like creating {{variable.assets}}, you can assign items to {{variable.customers}} individually or in bulk. 

If you want to narrow down the {{variable.assets}} listed, you can filter them by:
* Name
* Stock Keeping Unit (SKU)
* Created on
* Last updated on

## Assigning Equipment Individually
Assign {{variable.assets}} individually if you have a single item to assign.

2. {{variable.CLICK}} {{variable.Assets_Link}}
3. {{variable.SELECT}} the piece of {{variable.asset}} you'd like to assign. 
4. Under the *Assignments* tab, {{variable.CLICK_ON}} **Assign {{variable.asset}}**.
5. {{variable.SELECT}} the relevant {{variable.customer}} from the **{{variable.Customer_Field}}** {{variable.dropdownlist}}.

Start typing their name to narrow down the options.

6. {{variable.SELECT}} your {{variable.location}} from the **{{variable.Location_Field}}** {{variable.dropdownlist}}.
7. Define the **Assigned from** date and optionally the **Assigned until** date.

You've assigned the selected {{variable.assets}} to your {{variable.customer}}. {{variable.Assets_CAP}} is assigned indefinitely unless you define an **Assigned until** date via the *Assignments* tab of each piece of {{variable.asset}}.

<h2>Assigning Equipment in Bulk</h2>
Assign {{variable.assets}} in bulk if you have a large quantity of items you'd like to assign to a single {{variable.customer}}.

 :::(Warning) (Using the {{variable.BulkActionsMenu}} will assign the {{variable.assets}} from the current date.)
Assign {{variable.assets}} individually if you want to choose a different start date.

5. {{variable.SELECT}} your {{variable.location}} from the **{{variable.Location_CAP}}** {{variable.dropdownlist}}. 
6. {{variable.SELECT}} the relevant {{variable.customer}} from the **{{variable.Customer_Field}}** {{variable.dropdownlist}}.
