# Assigning Equipment to Resources

Assigning {{variable.assets}} to {{variable.resources}} is usually best when the item is fixed within a {{variable.resource}}, such as chairs or speakers in a meeting room. 

*For example, if each meeting room has its own large monitor for video conferencing, you would want to assign the monitor to the meeting room {{variable.resource}}.*

Assign the {{variable.assets}} to a [{{variable.floorplanitem}}](/docs/assigning-assets-to-floor-plan-units){target=`_blank`} instead.

You can assign each piece of {{variable.asset}} to only one {{variable.resource}}. You can't assign {{variable.assets}} to {{variable.resources}} in bulk. 

:::(Warning) (Assigning {{variable.assets}} to {{variable.resources}} doesn't assign it to {{variable.customers}} who are booking the {{variable.resource}}. )

3. {{variable.CLICK_ON}} the {{variable.asset}} item you want to assign. 
4. {{variable.SELECT}} **Available for a specific resource** in the **Assign to** section.  
5. {{variable.SELECT}} the {{variable.resource}} you want to link to your {{variable.asset}}.
6. {{snippet.Save_Changes}}

Repeat the process for all other {{variable.assets}} you'd like to connect to a {{variable.resource}}.
