# Assigning Financial Accounts to Inventory Items

You can assign one financial account per item listed in the chart of accounts.

          You need to [create financial accounts](/v3/docs/adding-financial-accounts) before assigning them to inventory items.

1. Log in to [dashboard.nexudus.com](https://dashboard.nexudus.com/) if you aren't already.
2. Click **Settings > Invoices & tax > Account**.
3. Click on the symbol in the **Account** column.
4. Select a financial account from the dropdown-list.

          No need to save your changes, they're automatically applied as you click on the next item.

          

1. Repeat the process for every item listed in the chart of accounts.

To change the account assigned to an item, all you need to do is click back on the account and select another account from the drop-down list.
