# Audits & Logs

##
## What Are Audits & Logs?

The Audits list, also known as logs, are simply a collection of all the actions triggered by users in your location. The logs let you know which user triggered the action and what type of action was recorded.

## How Logs Work

Every time a user triggers an action in Nexudus, we record the action alongside some details on the records and he user who triggered the action. You can access each location log via [**Settings > Audits & logs**](https://dashboard.nexudus.com/settings/6/2/0){target="_blank"} on the {{variable.AdminPanel}}.

Actions all fall into of three main categories:

* **Delete**
* **Create**
* **Update**

You can easily filter your logs by:

* **Action** - what type of action was recorded.
* **Action by** - which user triggered the recorded.
* **Record ID** - which record was created, updated or deleted.
* **Created on** - date and/or time when the record was created, updated or deleted.
* **Last updated on** - date and/or time when the record was last created, updated or deleted.

## FAQ
### How far back can I look up my logs?
Nexudus keeps logs in each of your location for six months before removing them.

### What does [System] mean?
If a log was actioned by **[System]** it means that the action was automatically triggered in Nexudus without any admin action or that a customer triggered the action from the {{variable.MembersPortal}}. This usually happens in automation scenarios such as members being invoiced based on their contract's invoice date without any admin action required.
