# Authorize.net

**Nexudus never stores customer payment details on its servers.**     We rely on the enabled payment providers to store this sensitive information and provide industry standard encryption for all server communications.

## What You Need to Enable Authorize.Net

### An Authorize.Net Account

You need an Authorize.net account that is fully set up before enabling this payment method in Nexudus.

### Your API Login ID and Transaction Key

You also your API login ID and transaction key to connect your Authorize.net account to Nexudus. Authorize.net provides a guide on [Obtaining your API Login ID and Transaction Key](https://support.authorize.net/knowledgebase/Knowledgearticle/?code=000001560).

          Treat your API login ID / transaction key as you would any password.

          

Copy them and keep them somewhere safe for the duration of the setup.

## Enabling Authorize.Net

1. Log in to [dashboard.nexudus.com](https://dashboard.nexudus.com/) if you aren't already.
2. Click {{variable.PaymentMethods_Link}.
3. Click on the **Authorize.Net** tile.
4. Add a **Payment gateway name**.

5. Fill out the **Transaction fee** if you want to charge customers using Authorize.Net.

          Remember to check you local laws and regulations regarding card payment surcharges/transaction fees.

          

Most European countries, including the United Kingdom, do not allow businesses to charge customers an extra fee for using a card payment option.

1. Add your **API Login ID**.
2. Add your **Transaction Key**.
3. Click the **Save Changes** button.
