# Chart of Accounts

## What is the Chart of Accounts?
Your chart of accounts is the structure that lets you match every item you sell to a financial account and tax rates. You access your chart of accounts page via {{variable.ChartOfAccounts_Link}} {{variable.OnTheAdminPanel}}. 

## Why Set up Your Chart of Accounts?
[Setting up your chart of accounts](/v3/docs/assigning-financial-accounts-to-inventory-items){target="_blank"} is a crucial step if you plan on using one of our accounting integrations. 

Every time you transfer {{variable.invoices}} to an integrated accounting platform, {{variable.Nexudus}} tries to match each {{variable.invoice}}d item to a financial account in your accounting system. If {{variable.invoice}}d items aren't assigned a financial account or your accounts don't match, the {{variable.invoice}} transfer fails. 

Setting up your chart of accounts is also a great way to keep your accounting in order through {{variable.Nexudus}} and get the most accurate revenue reports. 

## Chart of Accounts Sections
You can access your chart of accounts via {{variable.ChartOfAccounts_Link}}. Your chart of accounts lets you assign accounts and tax rates to the following items:

* **{{variable.Plans_CAP}}**
* **{{variable.Resources_CAP}}** 
* **Tickets** 
* **{{variable.Passes_CAP}}**
