Creating Validation Rules

You can easily create validation rules from scratch with the help of the available formula functions.

You can create validation rules for the following types of records:

  • Bookings 
  • Contracts 
  • Customers 
  • Invoices
  • Product sales 
  • Proposal contracts
  • Teams
  • Visitors
  • Event attendees


  1. Log in to dashboard.nexudus.com if you aren't already.

  2. Click Settings > Validation rules.

  3. Click Add rules.

  4. Click Manual entry.

  5. Name your rule.

  6. Add a Description of the rule.

  7. Enable the This rule is active toggle.

  8. Select a Record type.

  9. Add the Error message to display if the validation rule is not met.

  10. Add your Formula.

  11. Click the Save Changes button.


All set! Your validation rule is now active. You can easily test it by trying to perform the action your rule is meant to prevent. If it is working as intended, you should receive the error message you've defined when creating the rule.
