# Events on Members Portal 5

## What are events
The **Events section** of the {{variable.MembersPortal}} lets {{variable.customers}} see what events are happening in your space and RSVP. Events are a great way to build community in your space and offer networking opportunities to your {{variable.customers}}.

:::(Info) (Want to sell event tickets on the {{variable.MembersPortal}}?)
Check out [Event Tickets on Members Portal 5](/v3/docs/event-tickets-on-members-portal-5){target=`_blank`}.

## How do events work?
You can create {{variable.events}} on the {{variable.AdminPanel}} and publish them to the {{variable.MembersPortal}}.

Once you've published {{variable.events}} to the {{variable.MembersPortal}}, {{variable.customers}} can find {{variable.events}} they're interested in and leave comments.

## Enabling the events section
The Events section isn't enabled by default. You can enable the Events section from {{variable.WebsiteFeatures_Link}} on the {{variable.AdminPanel}}.

If you want to sell tickets to your {{variable.events}} on the {{variable.MembersPortal}}, you'll also need to [configure your event ticket settings](/v3/docs/setting-up-events-on-members-portal-5){target=`_blank`}. You can make event tickets **free** if you simply want to use them to let {{variable.customers}} RSVP or limit attendance.

If you want to let {{variable.customers}} [comment on {{variable.events}}](/v3/docs/commenting-on-events){target=`_blank`} to leave feedback or ask questions, you can enable this for each {{variable.event}} in its [publishing settings](/v3/docs/publishing-events){target=`_blank`}.
