# Formatting Merge Fields

Dynamic fields that include dates and numbers, such as the price of a contract or the contract start date, may require a specific format to match your local formatting conventions.

1. Log in to [dashboard.nexudus.com](https://dashboard.nexudus.com/) if you aren't already.
2. Click [**CRM > Document templates**](https://dashboard.nexudus.com/crm/documentTemplates).
3. Click the document template you want to edit.
4. Click **Launch editor**.

*The template editor opens another tab in your browser. Your document can take a few seconds to load.*

1. Right-click on any dynamic field and click **Field Properties**.
2. Enter your custom format in the **Numeric Format** or the **Date / Time Format** field.
3. Click on the **File** tab when you are ready to save your edits
4. Click the **Save** button.

You can close the editor's tab and return to the Admin Panel.

          Make sure you test the template with a mock proposal to see if the merge fields are displayed in the expected format.
