# Guest Bookings

## What are guest bookings?

Guest bookings let customers **make bookings without creating an account**.

## How do guest bookings work?

If you want to offer guest bookings, you'll need to **[make your Bookings section visible to the public](/v3/docs/setting-up-bookings-on-members-portal-5##defining-access-settings)** and **enable [guest checkout](/v3/docs/guest-checkout-on-members-portal-5)**.

Enabling guest checkout also allows users without an account to purchase event tickets and some products.

Users can **make [standard](/v3/docs/standard-bookings) or [AI-assisted](/v3/docs/ai-assisted-bookings) bookings** and will need to **pay upfront**. They'll be prompted to **Create an account** from the booking confirmation page and their booking confirmation email.

Users without an account cannot do the following:

- [make instant bookings](/v3/docs/list-view#making-instant-bookings)
- [edit bookings](/v3/docs/editing-bookings-on-members-portal-5)
- [cancel bookings](/v3/docs/cancelling-bookings-on-members-portal-5)

These features are only available to customers with portal access.

## Enabling guest bookings

Enabling guest bookings is a **two-step** process.

First, you'll need to make sure your Bookings section is visible to the public through your [Access settings](https://dashboard.nexudus.com/settings/2/0/4).

Then, you'll need to [enable guest checkout](/v3/docs/guest-checkout-on-members-portal-5).
