By setting up iBeacons in your space, you enable your customers to trigger actions such as check-ins and room bookings, simply by tapping their mobile device running the Passport app on these beacons.
What you need
You need to purchase at least one iBeacon to use in your space. iBeacon are very small devices that beam out a Bluetooth signal that our Passport app and its white-label equivalent can interpret to trigger an action in Nexudus.
Most iBeacons are compatible with the Passport app, as long as you configure them correctly.
iBeacon setup
Step 1. Download the configuration app for your iBeacon
The first step is to download the configuration app for your iBeacon device. Different iBeacon manufacturers will use a different configuration app.
Step 2. Define the UUID and Major/Minor for the action you want to trigger
Once you have the app installed and running, navigate to the configuration screen of your iBeacon. Navigation will vary based on the configuration app you use. You need to add an UUID value as well as Major/Minor for each iBeacon you want to set up.
We've detailed the values to trigger different actions in Nexudus below.
After thorough testing, we found that these values don't impact iBeacons performance while siginificantly extending their battery life.
Check-ins
UUID
790f084c-d069-4a20-8f16-04eea47f4ea2
Major/Minor
You can find these values on the Admin Panel under Settings > Companion apps > NexIO.
Create a booking
UUID
10a6426e-c446-4adf-a3f6-e3bc0b67bdfe
Major/Minor
You can find these values on the Admin Panel under the integrations tab of any of your resources.
Once you've defined the values in your iBeacon settings, just save the configuration to send thay data to your iBeacon!
