What You Need to Integrate Genetec
Your Genetec Port Number, Username, and Password
You need your Genetec port number along with your username and password.
You can find your Genetec username and password in the User Management section of the Genetec Config Tool.
Your Genetec port number is contained within the publicly accessible hostname or IP Address for your server. You can find your port number in the Web SDK Role section of the Genetec Config Tool.
For example, 4590 is the port number in the following addresses:
https://192.168.1.1:4590/WebSdk/
https://yourhostnamehere.com:4590/WebSdk/
A Web SDK Entity in Genetec
Open the Security Centre Config Tool.
Select the Tasks option on the left hand side and then click System > Roles.
If you do not have Web-based SDK already listed, click Add an Entity > Web Based SDK and follow the instructions.
In the Web-based SDK roles Properties section, make sure your Port numbers are correct.
Now the role has been added, the setup is complete. Click the 'Apply' button towards the bottom right of the screen, if you have made any changes.
We also strongly recommend the following setup:
- Turning SSL on by enabling the Use SSL connection toggle.
- Make sure your Web SDK port is open and can be accessed externally (e.g. by setting any Inbound/Outbound firewall rules within your IT system). You can use a tool such as Google Paping to verify that your port is successfully open, using your specific hostname or IP Address.
For more information on the setup and configuration of your Genetec system, check out the Security Center Installation and Upgrade Guide available on Genetec's TechDoc Hub.
Integrating Genetec
Log in to dashboard.nexudus.com if you aren't already.
Enable the Genetec integration toggle.
Add your Genetec port number in the Genetec server address.
Add your Genetec username and Genetec password.
Click the Save Changes button.
Several additional sections should now appear to help you map Genetec access groups to Nexudus items.
Resources
The Resources section lets you assign a Genetec group to every resource in your Nexudus inventory. Leave your resources blank if you don't want to connect a resource to a Genetec group.
Customers with valid bookings for connected resources are automatically added to the relevant Genetec groups 15 minutes before their booking starts. Nexudus also automatically removes them from the relevant Genetec group 15 minutes after their booking ends.
Passes
The Passes section lets you assign a Genetec group to every pass in your Nexudus inventory. Leave your passes blank if you don't want to connect them to a Genetec group.
Customers getting passes through plans or product benefits are automatically added to the relevant Genetec access groups.
Desks / Offices
The Desks / Offices section lets you assign a Genetec group to every desk and office in your Nexudus inventory. Leave your desks and offices blank if you don't want to connect them to a Genetec group.
Whenever you assign connected desks or offices to a customer's contract, they're automatically added to the relevant Genetec groups based on their contract's start date. Nexudus will automatically remove them from the Genetec groups when their contract ends.
If a customer is also the paying member of a team, Nexudus adds all members of the team to the relevant Genetec groups. All team members added to Genetec groups are automatically removed when the team paying member's contract ends.
Once you've assigned Genetec groups to all the relevant items in your Nexudus inventory, make sure to click Save Changes to complete the integration.
