You can add payment methods to let your {{variable.customers}} pay for their purchases in a few clicks {{variable.OnTheAdminPanel}}.

The details you need to provide to enable a payment method varies, depending on the provider. This guide is designed to give you a general understanding of the process.

## Transaction Fees
Most card payment providers we support can have a transaction fee. This section lets you charge {{variable.customers}} a set transaction fee every time they choose to pay using this payment option.

Transaction fees create a new invoice line. You can choose to charge tax on this fee and assign it to a specific [financial account](/v3/docs/financial-accounts){target="_blank"}.

:::(Warning) (Always make sure you comply with your local laws and business regulations regarding transaction fees on customer card payments.)
Charging customers a transaction fee for using a card payment option is not allowed in most European countries, including the United Kingdom.
