# Predicting Bookings

## What are predicted bookings?
**Predicted bookings** are {{variable.booking}} suggestions tailored to each {{variable.customer}} based on past {{variable.bookings}} they've made.

## How predicted bookings work
{{variable.Customers_CAP}} must [enable predicted bookings](/v3/docs/enabling-predicted-bookings){target=`_blank`} in their {{variable.MembersPortal}} settings. Predicted bookings appear after {{variable.customers}} have made **identical {{variable.bookings}}** over a period of at least **8 weeks**. Identical {{variable.bookings}} have the **same {{variable.resource}}, time, and day of the week**. 

{{variable.Customers_CAP}} can choose whether they'd like {{variable.Nexudus}} to **automatically confirm their {{variable.bookings}}** or whether they'd like to **[confirm them manually](/v3/docs/confirming-predicted-bookings){target=`_blank`}**. If they choose to confirm {{variable.bookings}} manually, {{variable.customers}} can also modify them before confirming. 

Predicted {{variable.bookings}} **don't reserve {{variable.resources}}** for specific {{variable.customers}}. If another {{variable.customer}} books the {{variable.resource}} for the same time, the suggestion will disappear from other {{variable.customer}} dashboards.
