# Prorating Plans

## What is plan proration?

Plan proration means charging members only for the days they actually use when they sign up partway through a billing cycle, rather than billing the full period. For example, say you offer a monthly plan that bills on the 25th. If a member signs up on the 19th, proration ensures they're only charged for those remaining days — not the entire month.

## Why prorate your plans

By default, new plans in Nexudus charge the first billing cycle in full. This means a member signing up near the end of a billing period still pays for the whole month. Prorating plans gives your members a fairer first bill, which can help encourage signups, especially for members joining mid-cycle.

It also keeps your billing transparent and reduces the risk of disputes or cancellation requests tied to unexpected charges.

*For example, 31 days for monthly plans and 14 days for bi-monthly plans.*

You've successfully prorated your plan. Any new member signing up will be invoiced based on the number of days left in the plan's current billing cycle.
