# Submitting Identity Checks

Customers can submit their proof of identity from the **Account** section of the Members Portal.

Customers only need to upload their documents on the Members Portal if you chose to **manually review their documents** when [requesting an identity check](/v3/docs/requesting-identity-checks).

If you requested an identity check through [Stripe Identity](/v3/docs/stripe-identity), customers will submit their documents through Stripe.

1. Log in to the Members Portal if you haven't already.
2. Open the drop-down menu next to your icon.
3. Select **Account**.
4. Select **Identity checks**.
5. Click **Verify ID**.
6. Select your **Document Type**.
7. Enter your **Document Number**.
8. Select your document's **Expiration Date**.
9. Under **Issued by**, enter who issued the document.
10. Upload a **photo of your face**.
11. Upload the **front of your document**.
12. Upload the **back of your document**.

You don't need to upload the back of your document if you selected Passport under Document Type.

1. Click **Save**.

All set! The identity check has been submitted.

You'll receive a notification letting you know that a customer has completed their identity check. You can manually [review their document](/v3/docs/reviewing-identity-checks) on the Admin Panel.
