# The Directory on Members Portal 5

## What is the directory?
The directory lets your {{variable.customers}} publish their professional profiles on the {{variable.MembersPortal}}. They can also browse the profiles of other {{variable.customers}} and {{variable.teams}}.

## How the directory works
{{variable.Customers_CAP}} and {{variable.teams}} can [publish their profiles](/v3/docs/publishing-professional-profiles){target=`_blank`} with information such as their industry, skills, and social media contact information. 

## Enabling the directory 
You can enable the directory from {{variable.WebsiteFeatures_Link}} on the {{variable.AdminPanel}}. 

You can configure your directory settings by clicking on the **Directory** tab under {{variable.Modules_Link}} on the {{variable.AdminPanel}}. 

Once you've enabled the directory and defined your settings, {{variable.customers}} can [publish their profiles](/v3/docs/publishing-professional-profiles){target=`_blank`} on the {{variable.MembersPortal}}.
