# Using Your Own Domain or Subdomain

Nexudus provides a default web address for each Members Portal in your account. The default web address is usually your location's name followed by **spaces.nexudus.com**. You can easily access and edit your default web address via Settings > Website on the Admin Panel.

You can also use your own domain or subdomain as your Members Portal web address if you don't want to use the *spaces.nexudus.com* address.

*For example, you can change your Members Portal web address to **coworking.com** or **london.coworking.com** instead of the default **coworking.spaces.nexudus.com** address we provide.*

The setup process you should follow depends on whether you plan on using a **domain** or a **subdomain**.

:::(Info) (**What's the difference between a domain and a subdomain?**)

A **domain** is a web address such as ***nexudus.com*** or ***coworking.com***.

A **subdomain** is a web address such as **help**.*nexudus.com* or **location**.*coworking.com*. Subdomains are always part of a main domain.

The setup processes for domains and subdomains are detailed below.

## Using Your Own Domain

In order to use your own domain as your Members Portal web address, you'll need to set up an SSL proxy through CloudFlare and then add your business domain in Nexudus.

Your domain will replace the Members Portal default web address within two to three days.
:::(Warning) (You need to register your domain before starting the setup process.)
If you need to register your domain, some popular domain registrars include GoDaddy, Google Domains or Bluehost. Nexudus cannot register any domain for you.
:::

For full instructions on setting up your own Members Portal domain, check out our tutorial [Setting up a Custom Domain for Your Members Portal](https://help.nexudus.com//v3/docs/setting-up-domain-for-your-members-portal){target="_blank"}.

## Using Your Own Subdomain
In order to use your own subdomain as your Members Portal web address, you need to ask Nexudus to generate a SSL certificate for your subdomain.

We will share a CNAME record that you will then need to add to your domain's DNS. Once the CNAME record is in your domain's DNS, all you need to do is add your business subdomain in Nexudus.

:::(Info) (Need additional subdomains?)
If you need additional subdomain down the line, you don't need to make a new request. Simply add your new subdomain as an additional CNAME record to your DNS.
:::

Your subdomain will replace the Members Portal default web address within two to three days.

:::(Warning) (You must register your domain/subdomain before starting the setup process.)
If you need to register your domain, some popular domain hosts include GoDaddy, Google Domains or Bluehost. **Nexudus cannot register any domain for you.**
