Translating the Members Portal in a New Language

  • Comment

Your Members Portal is available in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish by default. You can also translate it in one or several other languages and have them added as new language options.

For example, you want your Members Portal to be available in Swedish and Norwegian.

Translating your Members Portal in a new language is a three-step process.

Step 1. Downloading Your Translation File

The first step to translate your Members Portal is to download a translation file. The translation file compiles all the language tokens used in your current version of the Members Portal. You download the translation file from the Admin Panel.

  1. Click Settings > Website > Languages.

  2. Select any language and click Language Details.

  3. Click Export Tokens from the Select Actions menu.

  4. Click Continue to confirm your action.

Your download should only take a few seconds and you can find your tokens file in the Downloads folder of your device.

Step 2. Translating Your Language Tokens

Your translation file is a XML file that you can edit with any simple text editor. Most Windows and Mac computers already have a built-in simple text editor, namely Notepad in Windows and TextEdit in Mac.

  1. Open either Notepad or TextEdit.

  2. Click the File tab and select Open from the drop-down list.

  3. Select the translation file you downloaded during Step 1 and click Open.

  4. Edit all your language tokens by replacing the token value with your translation.

Each language token has two elements in quotation marks. The first element is the language token name and the second element is the token's value.

In order to translate a language token, you just need to edit the token's value. Don't remove the quotation marks and don't edit the token name.

If your language token also includes dynamic tokens in double curly braces {{xxx}}, translate the token value quotations marks without translating the dynamic tokens. These dynamic tokens leverage data from your Nexudus account and don't require translation.

  5. Once you've translated all the tokens, click the File tab and select Save

You've successfully edited your translation file and you can move to step 3.

Step 3. Sending Your Translation File to Nexudus

Once you've edited your translation file, reach out to our support team at

Make sure you include the following in your message:

  • The new language you want to add to your Members Portal
  • Your edited XML translation file

If there is no problem with your translation file, your Members Portal translation should be available within a couple of days.
