Our accounting integration with Xero also lets your customers pay their invoices on your Members Portal using a payment provider set up in your Xero account.
Step 1. Setting up a payment service in your Xero account
You need at least one payment service fully set up in your Xero account to use allow customers to pay for their invoices using Xero. Payment services are just payment providers that you can connect to Xero.
If you haven't set up a payment service in your Xero account, we recommend you follow Xero's tutorial on how to Set up payment service with Xero.
You can pick any of the payment services supported by Xero and set up more than one in your account. Once you have your payment service set up in Xero, all you need to do is make sure your Xero integration is enabled and set up correctly.
Make sure that you set up your payment service in the correct Xero organization connected to the relevant Nexudus location.
Step 2. Check your Xero integration on the Admin Panel
If you haven't enabled the Xero integration yet, we recommend you follow our Integrating Xero instructions before going through the steps below.
Log in to the Admin Panel if you aren't already.
Make sure the Show links to pay invoices via Xero in your Members Portal toggle is enabled.
Click the Save Changes button.
All done! We recommend you test your setup by issuing an invoice for a dummy customer before trying to pay that invoice using the Xero payment service on the Members Portal.
Your Xero payment service should appear as the Pay option in any customer's account on the Members Portal.
Remember that the invoice won't show up as paid in Nexudus until the direct debit mandate is approved and the payment fully processed.
Do Xero payment services support automatic invoice payment?
It all depends on the payment service you use and whether or not Xero support recurring or automated payment for that payment service.
We recommend you reach out to Xero's support to find out whether or not automated payments can work with your payment service in Xero.
Does my payment service in Xero have to be one of the payment methods that Nexudus supports?
No, you can connect any payment service that Xero supports, even if it isn't a payment method supported by Nexudus.
Can I have multiple payment services enabled in Xero?
Yes, you can have multiple payment services set up in your Xero account. Customers will be able to pick one of them as they go through the checkout process.
Can I change the name of my Xero payment service on the Members Portal?
Unfortunately, you cannot change this payment method's name on the Members Portal. The payment option shown to customers for payment services you make available through Xero is always named Pay.
