What is Forte?
Forte is a card payment gateway available to spaces located in the United States and Canada.
It lets your customers pay for their invoices using credit or debit cards as a one-off or automatically every time you issue an invoice for them if they accept to keep their card details on file.
Enabling Forte
You need the following details to enable Forte in your account:
- Account
- API Key
- Location
- Secret
You can find all these details in your Forte account. If you're unsure about where to find them, reach out to Forte's support or sales team. Once you have your details ready, you can enable Forte in just a few clicks on the Admin Panel.
Managing multiple locations?
You need to repeat the integration process in each location where you want to use Forte.
Log in to dashboard.nexudus.com if you aren't already.
Click on Forte.
Select your location in the Owned by drop-down list.
Define your Payment option name.
This is the name of the payment option as it will be displayed on the Members Portal.
Define a Transaction fee if you'd like to charge customers for using this payment method.
Make sure you comply with your local laws and regulations on transaction fees.
Most European countries, including the United Kingdom, do not allow businesses to charge customers choosing to pay through a specific card payment option.
Add your Forte Account, API Key, Location, and Secret details in the relevant fields.
Click the Save Changes button.
All set! We recommend you test your payment method by going through the payment process on the Members Portal using a dummy customer.
