All the admin companion apps must be set up by an admin user. Most apps can only be managed by a full unrestricted admin, but some allow restricted admins with specific roles if your space requires stricter user permissions.
All full unrestricted admins can set up and manage companion apps, so you're never blocked if someone leaves or switches roles. Another full unrestricted admin can step in at any time, which means fewer issues, fewer surprises, and less maintenance for your team.
Only rely on restricted admins with a NexBoard role if your space's policies or processes require it.
NexBoard
We strongly recommend using a full unrestricted admin to set up NexBoard. You can also use a restricted admin with with a role dedicated to NexBoard if needed.
NexBoard User Role
If you want to use a restricted admin for NexBoard, you need to create a role based on the NexBoard template.
The NexBoard user role includes the following permissions:
- Booking - List, Read, Change
- BusinessDomain - List, Read
- BusinessSetting - List, Read
- Country - List
- Coworker - List, Read
- Currency - List
- Dashboard - All
- FloorPlanDesk - List
- Language - List
- Resource - List, Read, Change
- SimpleTimeZone - List, Read
- User - List, Read
Once you have your role for NexBoard, you can assign it to any current restricted admin.
NexDelivery
Whether or not you need a dedicated admin user for delivery will depend on how you process deliveries with the app.
If all your staff uses the same phone to record deliveries using the app, we recommend you create a dedicated admin user for NexDelivery.
If your staff uses different work or personal phones to record deliveries using the app, we recommend each of them use their own admin account. If your staff doesn't have full unrestricted admin rights, we still recommend you create a role for NexDelivery and assign it to all the admin users who process deliveries in your space. This will ensure that all admins processing deliveries have the necessary permissions by default.
NexDelivery User Role
If you want to use a restricted admin for NexDelivery, you need to create a custom role that includes the following permissions:
- Business - List, Read
- Coworker - All
- RefreshToken - All
- AccessToken - All
- CoworkerDelivery - All
- Report - All
Once you have the role for NexDelivery, you can easily create a new admin user and assign it the NexDelivery role you've just created. You can also assign the NexDelivery role to existing restricted admins if your staff uses their own devices to record deliveries through the app.
NexEvents
Admins must be full unrestricted admins to set up and manage NexEvents.
NexIO
Admins must be full unrestricted admins to set up and manage NexIO.
NexKiosk
Admins must be full unrestricted admins to set up and manage NexKiosk.
We recommend your members of staff use their own admin account to work with NexKiosk in ePOS mode. Having each member of staff use their own admin details helps you track who handled transactions through the Audits & Logs, similarly to cashiers who must provide their details when handling a shared register.
