What you Need to Integrate Salto

You need to make sure some requirements are met before you can integrate Salto with Nexudus. The following points detail what you need prior to starting the integration process.

A Salto Account

If you don't have an Salto account already set up, get in touch with the Salto team. They will help you set up your account and install the system in your space.

A Nexudus Inventory

The integration works by connecting Salto access groups to passes, resources, desk, and offices in Nexudus. It is important to have these items set up in your space prior to the integration.
If you still need to add items to your inventory, check out the following tutorials:

Access Groups in Salto

You need to set up access groups in your Salto account. These groups will then be linked to passes and resources in Nexudus. Access groups can only be created and edited in Salto.

Consider the following points before creating access groups in Salto:

  • How many access groups you need to create

We recommend you create one access group per pass and per resource you have in your Nexudus inventory.

For example, if you have 4 passes and 8 resources in your inventory, you need to create 12 access groups in Salto.

  • Which doors users need to access

When creating an access group, think about all the doors your users will need to unlock in order to access a specific resource or area of your building.

For example, users booking a resource need access to the resource door as well as any other door they need to unlock to get to the resource, such as the main entrance door or a floor door.

Once you've figured out how many Salto groups you need and which doors each of them should include, check out Salto's article on how to set up an access group. You only need to create access groups in Salto. Nexudus will automatically add users to the Salto groups when they purchase passes or book resources.

Nexudus automatically adds users to access groups as they purchase linked passes, book resources or rent desks and offices. Nexudus also automatically removes users from access groups as their passes expire, their user group subscription is cancelled or their bookings end.

What to Consider When Creating access Groups

  • The total number of access groups you need to create

We recommend a access group for each pass, resource, desk, and office available in your Nexudus account.

For example, if you have 3 passes, 5 resources, and 7 desks in your Nexudus account, you should create 15 access groups in Salto , one for each item in your inventory.

  • Which doors you need to include in each access group
When creating a access group, think about all the doors linked to Salto that your users have to unlock in order to access a specific resource or area of your building.

Let's say your space has its main entrance door, each floor entrance door, and each resource door linked to Salto . Each resource will needs its own access group that should include: the resource door, the door of the floor where the resource is located, and the main entrance door.

Including all the necessary doors in your access groups will ensure your users don't get stuck in your space and they can access the areas that are included in their plan, their bookings or their user groups.

  1. Select your location in the SaltoV2 site drop-down list.

  2. Click the Save Changes button.

Now that the integration is enabled, you can move to the next step of the integration.

Step 2. Connecting Inventory Items to Access Groups

The second and last step of the process is to link your Nexudus inventory items to their corresponding access groups in Salto.
A few new section should have popped up under the initial integration form.

Presence tracking

This section lets you connect specific doors in your space to check-ins in Nexudus. Every time a user unlocks one of the selected doors, they'll automatically be checked in/out in Nexudus.

Resources

Just select the corresponding access groups in the Salto KS access groups column. Leave the option blank for resources that you don't want to connect to Salto KS.

Salto_ResourceMapping.png

Linking an access group to a resource means that any users booking that resource will be added to that access group in Salto .
Nexudus automatically adds users to the relevant access group 15 minutes before their bookings start. We also remove them from the same access group 15 minutes after their bookings end.

Passes

Just select the corresponding access groups in the Salto KS access groups column. Leave the option blank for passes that you don't want to connect to Salto KS.

Salto_PassesMapping.png

Nexudus adds the user to the relevant access groups as soon as connected passes are added to their account. This applies to passes users get through plans, passes and passes that are manually added to their account.

Each access group / pass pair must have matching access times.

If a pass grants access to your space from 9 to 5 and its corresponding access group only allows access between 10 and 5, users with that pass will only be able to access your space between 10 and 5. Nexudus cannot override the access times defined in Salto KS.

Desks / Offices

Just select the corresponding access groups in the Salto KS access groups column. Leave the option blank for passes that you don't want to connect to Salto KS.

Salto_DeskOfficeMapping.png

Nexudus automatically adds users to the relevant access groups as soon as one of the connected desks or offices are assigned to one of their user groups. We remove them from the relevant access groups on the connected user group susbcription cancellation dates.

Don't forget to click Save changes to complete the integration.

All set! The Salto KS integration is now complete. Your users are now able to unlock doors based on their bookings and user groups.

Using Salto tags?

You'll need to assign your tags to the relevant users in Nexudus.
