What You Need to Integrate Avigilon Alta

Resources, Passes, Desks & Offices in Nexudus

You need inventory items set up in your Nexudus account to use the Avigilon Alta integration. You can connect all your resources, passes, desks, and offices to Avigilon Alta. You can also choose to only connect specific items to door access.

Access Groups in Avigilon Alta

You also need access groups based to match the inventory items you want to connect to Avigilon Alta.

You create and edit access groups in Avigilon Alta.

Each inventory item you want to connect should have its own access group. Having an access group per connected item gives you greater control over the doors available to customers.

For example, if you want to connect 5 passes, 10 resources and 3 offices to Avigilon Alta, you should create 18 access groups in Avigilon Alta.

Each access group also should include all the doors customers need to unlock to use your space.

For example, if you want to connect a resource to Avigilon Alta, the access group you create for the resource should include the resource's door as well as any other door customers need to unlock to get there.

Your Avigilon Alta Username, Password and Organization ID

You should also make sure you have your Avigilon Alta username, password, and organization ID handy before starting the integration process. Your username and password are the email address and password you use to log in to Avigilon Alta. Your organization ID should be available in your Avigilon Alta account.

Integrating Avigilon Alta

Once you have all the details and items you need, the integration is an easy three-step process.

Step 1. Enabling the Avigilon Alta Integration

The first step of the integration is enabling it on the Admin Panel.

  1. Log in to dashboard.nexudus.com if you aren't already.

  2. Enable the Avigilon Alta integration toggle.

  3. Add your Avigilon Alta username.

  4. Add your Avigilon Alta organization ID.

  5. Add your Avigilon Alta password.

  6. Select the Region where your space is located.

  7. Enable Send a CloudKey link to visitors if you want to grant visitors door access.

  8. If you enabled Send a CloudKey link to visitors, add the CloudKey Guests Entry ID of every Avigilon Alta door visitors should be able to open.

  9. Click the Save Changes button.

If the connection is successful, several new sections should pop up below the initial integration form.

Received an error message?

Check that your Avigilon Alta username, password and organization ID are correct and try saving your changes again.

Step 2. Selecting a Credential Type

The next step is to select the type of access card your space uses with Avigilon Alta. You can choose from the following options:

  • Automatic
  • Openpath/MIFARE (CSN) - Fast
  • Openpath DESFire (Encrypted) - Secure
  • Wiegand ID
  • Schlage
  • PIN
  1. Select your Card type under the Credential type section.
  2. Select your Card format.
Depending on the card type you select, you may need to add more details about the card format.

  1. Click the Save Changes button.

Now that you've defined your card type, you can move to the last step of the integration process.

Step 3. Connecting Inventory Items to Access Groups

The last step of the integration process is connecting all the relevant items in your Nexudus inventory to the corresponding access groups in Avigilon Alta.

Resources

Just select the corresponding access groups in the Avigilon Alta access groups column. Leave the option blank for resources that you don't want to connect to Avigilon Alta.

Nexudus automatically adds customers to the relevant access group 15 minutes before their bookings start. We also remove them from the same access group 15 minutes after their bookings end.

Passes

Just select the corresponding access groups in the Avigilon Alta access groups column. Leave the option blank for passes that you don't want to connect to Avigilon Alta.

Nexudus adds the customer to the relevant access groups as soon as connected passes are added to their account. This applies to passes customers get through plans, passes and passes that are manually added to their account.

Desks / Offices

Just select the corresponding access groups in the Avigilon Alta access groups column. Leave the option blank for passes that you don't want to connect to Avigilon Alta.

Nexudus automatically adds customers to the relevant access groups as soon as one of the connected desks or offices are assigned to one of their contracts. We remove them from the relevant access groups on the connected contracts cancellation dates.

Don't forget to click Save changes when you are done.

All set! Avigilon Alta is now integrated with Nexudus.
