What is NexBoard?

NexBoard is a Nexudus app that turns your tablets into room displays. Customers can see a resource's availability and book that resource directly from the tablet or via the Passport app. The app is available on Google Play and the App Store.

NexBoard is included in your Nexudus subscription at no additional cost.

How NexBoard Works

You can set up NexBoard in three simple steps.

  1. Purchase a tablet for each resource you'd like to connect to NexBoard.
  2. Set up the tablet and download NexBoard.
  3. Connect the tablet to a resource.

If you have resource connected to multiple floor plan units, such as a hot desk or phone booth bank, you can set up NexBoard so customers can select units from the same tablet.

You can use the same admin account to connect multiple resources as long as each resource has its own tablet.

Tablet Requirements

You need at least one tablet meeting the requirements detailed below to use NexBoard. You can choose to set up multiple tablets with NexBoard if you want each resource to have its own NexBoard display.

For the best experience, choose consumer tablets (not enterprise or kiosk models) from established brands with access to the App Store or Google Play.

Our app isn't compatible with Amazon Fire tablets or any other tablet that doesn’t use the App Store or Google Play to download apps.

We recommend tablets under 5 years old to ensure they continue receiving regular OS updates that keep our app running smoothly. See the detailed requirements below.

Screen size WiFi Bluetooth OS version

9 to 12 inches for optimal display (7 inches minimum)
Tablets must be able to connect to WiFi. Tablets must support Bluetooth 4.0 (also known as BLE) or above. iPadOS - Version 15.6 or later

Android - Version 12 or up

Try to find a balance between the tablet requirements and your budget. Newer tablets cost more upfront but support the latest OS for longer. Older or refurbished models can be a more affordable starting point, just keep in mind they may need replacing sooner.

FAQ

Can I use the same admin account for multiple tablets?

Absolutely! You can set up all your NexBoard tablets using the same account as long as they are a full unrestricted admin or a restricted admin with a NexBoard user role.

How does NexBoard work with combined resources?

NexBoard will show that a resource is unavailable when blocked by a combined resource booking.

Customers can only book a resource from a tablet directly connected to that resource.
