Your User Portal is available in the following languages by default:
- English
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- French
- German
- Italian
*You need to activate these languages to start using them.
You can also translate it in one or more languages that we don't support by default.
For example, you want your User Portal to be available in Hungarian or Estonian.
Translating your User Portal in a new language is a four-step process:
- You create the new language on the Admin Panel.
- You export the translation tokens from the Admin Panel.
- You translate all the tokens in your new language in a simple text editor such as Notepad on PC or TextEdit on Mac.
- You import the translated tokens the translation file from the Admin Panel.
Step 1. Creating Your Language
The first step to translate your User Portal in a new language is to create that language on the Admin Panel.
Log in to dashboard.nexudus.com if you aren't already.
Click Settings > Languages.
Click Add language.
Add the language's Name.
Add the language's Culture ISO code.
Check your country's ISO 639-1 code here.
Enable the Active toggle.
Click the Save Changes button.
Now that you have your language in Nexudus, you can move to the next step.
Step 2. Exporting Your Language Tokens
You can export your translation tokens in just a few clicks on the Admin Panel.
Log in to dashboard.nexudus.com if you aren't already.
Click Settings > Languages.
Tick the checkbox next to the language you created in the previous step.
Click Export language tokens in the Bulk actions menu.
Click Yes, do it to confirm.
The download should only take a few seconds and you can find the files in the Downloads folder of your device. Once you have the file, you can move to the next step.
Step 3. Translating Your Language Tokens
Now that you have your language tokens you can start the actual translation of your User Portal. You can open the file in any simple text editor already available on your devicesuch as Notepad on PC or TextEdit on Mac.
Once the file is open, you will see a list of tokens with a combination or token name and value. What you need to translate is the value between quotation marks for each token.
Each token corresponds to a piece of text that can be found on your User Portal. Tokens can be static or dynamic.
Static tokens are simply text that doesn't change on your User Portal.
For example, the Community page will always be named Community regadless of who is browsing your User Portal or what they do on the page.
Dynamic tokens include variables that change based on the user interacting with the User Portal page or your space's settings.
The only text you should translate in dynamic tokens is plain text that isn't between double curly braces {{ }}.
For example, you should only translate Booking Calendar in the token below:
Step 4. Importing Your Language Tokens
Once you've translated all the tokens for your new language, you're ready to import your translated tokens.
Log in to dashboard.nexudus.com if you aren't already.
Click Settings > Languages.
Tick the checkbox next to the language you created in the previous step.
Click Import language tokens in the Bulk actions menu.
Click Select file and upload your edited translation file.
Click Yes, do it to confirm.
All set! Your translation should be available on your User Portal shortly.
